Felsefe mutlu bir yaşam sağlamak için, tutarlı eylemsel bir sistemdir.

Evrende her şey insan için haz objesidir. Ancak erdemle gelen bilgi arttıkça haz da artar. Bu nedenle yönelim hazza değil bilgiye olmalıdır.
Zevk mutlu bir yaşamın başlangıcı ve amacıdır.
Var olduğumuz sürece ölüm ortada yoktur; ölüm geldiği anda da biz artık yokuz.

Mühür balmumunda nasıl iz bırakırsa, eşyada insanda öyle iz bırakır.

Bilginin amacı; insanı bilgisizlik ve boş inançlardan tanrı ve ölüm korkusundan kurtarmaktır. Ve bu olmadan mutlu olmaya imkan yoktur.
